also,

I think Argonaut might be my new favorite word.
maybe.
we'll see.

there's nothing like the music for the overture and curtain call of a musical.

i'm doing the ncvps health online course.
it sucks.
but it's better than wasting a semester in school on it when i could be dancing which is what i'll be doing this year. :D

also, we get costumes for cats tomorrow.
and i think we're wearing the wig caps, but not the wigs, which is going to look really weird.
ohboy.

over and out.

I almost completely missed the fact that this shot is from The Great Race, which is one of my favorite movies. Also, the fact that I know what scene this is, and exactly what part of the scene it is, shows that I've seen the movie way too many times.

I want to do this.

the disposable memory project

I'm going to get a code for a camera soon, so I can drop a camera somewhere. First North Carolina camera. This is fairly exciting. Except it'd be more so if I found a camera...

I wrote a song about California.

At 11:30 at night. So it's a little...I don't know. It's not the best. But it was surprisingly easy to write.

California,
gonna start a day
like I always knew I could,
California,
where the sun goes down
over the ocean, like it should,
California,
where the bright city lights
dare to outshine the sun,
gonna pack my bags,
grab your hand and run,
viviremos California.

(that's just the chorus.)
(Viviremos means "we will live," by the way.)

only difference 'tween you and me's just a little nationality.

I'll attempt to post more once I get myself organized. In terms of songs I need to type up all the completed songs I have (a lot. then I'll post lyrics), finish a few (I think I currently only have one on the way, although I have a lot of bits and pieces, and two possible choruses), and attempt to record a bunch (preferably the ones we decide on for I Think We've Got Something Here).

In terms of (why am I saying "in terms of" so much? I sound like Mr. Waters) photos, there are some I need to put on my computer (from my camera), some that need a bit of editing (I made the mistake of taking a lot in semi-harsh light), and then I just have to upload them all.
That's always fun.

Also, I'll probably be nearing my photo limit on flickr soon (the limit for a free account is 200), and I have it set so that all my photos automatically get sent to my tumblr. But I'm debating whether to get a pro account.

Yep, I'm rambling. I'm going to shut up now.

so it's called Blue Moon, nu?

The tune makes it sound a little 80s/90s (I think those are the right decades. Pretty sure.) but just deal with it.
And I'm not sure if that's all there is to the song. If I want to write more I will. That's just how I roll.

Kiss me once,
well, that's just great,
kiss me twice,
I appreciate
the way you hold me tight
and say goodnight to me,
but sometimes I gotta wonder,
are you trying to pick a fight with me?
Kiss me quick so no one sees,
I get it, you're just being polite for me,
but don't, I need you all the time,
and a rhyme to finish up this line,
there's nothing left for me to say,
it doesn't have to be this way,
I just want to get my way,
I just want to hear you say
the things you know you wanna say.
Are you scared you'll scare me off?
Be brave, you little Argonaut,
I'm not gonna leave any time soon,
don't save yourself for your blue moon.
(your blue moon.)

It's all over, and I'm standing pretty.

I'm a sophomore now.
SOPHOMORE. Not freshman.
No matter what Maureen and Anya and the rest of those mean people I call my friends say.

I really feel like downloading some music in Spanish, because I was listening to French music after the World exam with Maureen today, and I liked it. Especially that one song! The one where she sings the way people USED to. GOOD singing.
I miss the 40's and 50's. :(

But it's summer and I'm happy! and I just listened to Unlimited Enthusiasm so I'm rather a lot more energetic than I should be right now. I have unlimited enthusiasm.

You gotta jump (JUMP!), you gotta yell (YELL!), you gotta run (RUN!) you gotta tell (TELL!) all of your friends (friends..!), this is the ultimate summer camp! (Caaaaaaaamp...?)

Fun times.
We also watched Finding Nemo after the exam.

Deepu: What is that?
Shuyu: It's a BUTT!
Deepu: What?
Shuyu: a BUTT!
Deepu: I don't get it.
Me: I GET IT.
Deepu: I still don't get it.

you can keep my viking heart.

Funny thing is, even if you know it's me, what can you do about it?

yeahsorry.

I never hated you,
I only disagreed
with some of the things you said.
Now we're standing awkwardly,
or maybe that's just me,
remembering all the things
I wish that I'd never done,
so I apologize.
I won't say it again,
final reconciliation.

(but somehow you never cease to annoy me.)

Studying for Waters is just a waste of my time.

1. What are the four causes for the fall of the Roman Empire and how did each contribute to the collapse of the empire?

For one thing, the fact that I'm his first but you're his second gives him a bit of an advantage.
For another, it doesn't help that everyone's liked him, which helps them understand why you like him, too, whereas nobody's ever liked someone like the other him.
It doesn't help that I just referred to him as the other him.

(Germanic invasions, corrupt officials, lack of nationalism/patriotism, and heavy taxes.)

2. What was the Peloponnesian war fought over? What was the outcome? How did this war lead to the end of the Greeks?

You always wished you had it like me. Now you've got your wish, and honestly I'm happy for you, but quite frankly I'd rather like it if she stopped referring to you two as the new us.

(Conflict between Sparta and Athens - Sparta resented Athenian domination. Sparta and Persia joined forces and captured Athens, whose economy eventually recovered, making them dominant again. However, democratic government suffered, as well as the spirit of Athens.)

And the rest...is history. No, I just don't feel the need to study more for Waters.

Polaroid.

Why am I so obsessed with Polaroids?
(I'm getting film on ebay.)

skipping over my stepping stones

Sammy gave me Castledoor, Coconut Records, and Miniature Tigers. :)
I got to go home after lunch yesterday because I didn't have an afternoon exam.
AND I get to go bowling today.
(of course, this involves taking a bio exam beforehand, but whatever.)
And Ms. Hite lets us play wii after we're all done. :)

Polaroid Pictures

Draft recording of Molly's "Sweetest Mistake" found here.

Shake it like a Polaroid picture.

When I saw the phrase "I like tridents," the tune for "I Like Giants" popped into my head. WowI'mspecial.

That pretty much sums everything up right now.

Actually, I'm guessing it's still kind of hard to read, it says--

I just want to curl up in your arms and sleep
I want you to keep me warm when it rains.

I love laughing with you--
every time we laugh it's like a miracle.

At 11:11 each night, I have nothing to wish for
except that things could stay the way they are,
right now,
forever.
Everyone together, in love, in the grass
shouting, singing, dancing,
pretending to fight, buying food at the local jewel,
buying ice cream, custard, and happiness,
seeing people we know,
taking pictures to try to capture time,
hugging, kissing,
longing
for a bit more
time, and
love.

Well, that was shocking..

but at least i found my polaroid. :)

but seriously though. i thought i’d thrown it away last summer. the beginning of last summer. almost a year ago.

i also thought that it wasn’t an actual apology. i guess i was reading more between the lines than what the words actually said.

“I am incredibly sorry.”

:K

now I’M sorry.

i feel like i should say something but i don’t know what.

and i’m skipping over letters. is it dyslexia or shock?

i’m thinking shock.
